Alcove started with an obsessive fascination for the patterns of islamic art - like those of Alhambra in Granada, Spain, or the Kasbah of Telouet, Morocco - and the desire of understanding how these work. I reverse-engineered these patterns to be able to create computer-generated, pixel-perfect shapes, respecting the traditional geometric dimensions.

After exploring the secrets of the harmony of traditional zellige, original creations were made, still based on the same mathematical rules, sometimes with a twist.
